ATC adjourns bail pleas hearing in May 9 case

Special prosecutor's absence leads judge to postpone hearing over 38 accused's bail petitions

An anti-terrorism court judge on Wednesday adjourned proceedings by July 7 of the post-arrest bails of 38 accused allegedly involved in creating law and order, chaos and attacking Jinnah House following the arrest of the former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The ATC judge was hearing post arrest bails of thirty-eight accused persons including Rabia Sultan wife of former governor Punjab Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Sanam Javed and several others. However, the judge adjourned the matters in response to the absence of the special prosecutor as well as some lawyers of the accused persons.

Earlier, an ATC judge had dismissed post arrest bails of 11 accused allegedly involved in creating law and order, chaos and setting ablaze to PMLN's office at Model Town following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The judge announced decision on post arrest bails of total 17 accused persons. Out of total the bails of six accused petitioners were accepted.

The bails petitions of accused petitioners Muhammad Zaigham, Huzaifa, Ayaz Tallat, Anees Ahmed, Muhammad Khalid, Tanveer, Ali Ahmed, Zubair, Usman and others were dismissed.
