Katrina Kaif walks out of 'Jee Le Zaraa' after Priyanka Chopra: Indian media

The anticipated project seems to be coming undone

Farhan Akhtar's upcoming film Jee Le Zaraa seems to have hit another roadblock. According to Filmfare, popular Indian cinema star Katrina Kaif has reportedly chosen to walk away from the project, following in the footsteps of Priyanka Chopra. The film, which was initially anticipated to feature a stellar cast including Kaif, Chopra, and Alia Bhatt, now faces casting troubles that have left fans disappointed.

While the exact reasons for Kaif's departure from the film have not been disclosed, reports suggest that the star walked out of the travel-based film after Chopra did. Previously, a source close to Bollywood Hungama had revealed that scheduling conflicts among the stars led to the film being postponed. 

As per the source, "Priyanka Chopra was unable to commit to shooting in 2023 due to her Hollywood commitments and proposed shooting for Jee Le Zaraa in 2024. Although Farhan was amenable to the idea, Alia Bhatt had already committed to projects like Ramayana and Baiju Bawra in 2024. Considering the demanding nature of these two films, she was unable to accommodate the film's shooting dates next year. Consequently, Farhan decided to delay the film until the timing was right," the source claimed.

While there has been no official confirmation regarding the casting changes or the selection of new contenders, rumours suggest that Kiara Advani and Anushka Sharma's names have emerged as possible replacements for Chopra and Kaif. However, fans remain uncertain about the new casting choices, as they had been captivated by the idea of seeing the original, power-packed trio of Kaif, Chopra, and Bhatt together in the film.

The unexpected exits have led to social media discussions and debates among netizens. Koimoi reports that on platforms like Reddit, fans have taken the opportunity to express their disappointment and even poke fun at Bhatt, blaming her commitments for the film's casting troubles.

As fans eagerly await an official statement from the filmmakers and actors involved, the fate of Jee Le Zaraa hangs in the balance. The unexpected departures have left a void in the highly anticipated project, leaving the production team with the challenge of finding suitable replacements that can capture the essence and chemistry envisioned for the film.
