KARACHI:

The fabled cattle rustlers of Wild West have reincarnated in the port city as goat thieves that haul away expensive sacrificial animals in a wink of eye.

A sacrificial animal has been stolen from the Central Government Employees Cooperative Housing Society (CGECHS) in Gulshan-e-Iqbal within the jurisdiction of Sharae Faisal police station.

As per details, Mohammad Hassan Nazeer, a resident of CGECHS, located in Block 10A of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, purchased a sacrificial animal for more than Rs200,000 from a cattle market on Northern Bypass.

He was feeding his animal outside his house when he went inside to bring something and returned to find his animal stolen within minutes. Nazeer suspects that his animal might have been taken away by thieves in a car. Surprisingly, the theft took place despite the presence of a boundary wall and three security guards in the society.
