Balochistan completes land record digitization

Digital facilities will be provided in Gwadar, Pishin, Jaffarabad and Quetta

Adviser to the Balochistan Chief Minister on Information, Mitha Khan Kakar has said that land record across the province has been digitized which will increase transparency and prevent corruption and land grabbing in the future.

He said that the digitization of the land record is part of a drive under which all the government departments are being digitised.

The spokesperson of government of Balochistan, Farah Azeem Shah and other officials were also present on the occasion. They shed light on the provincial government’s initiatives in the province.

Kakar said that according to the vision of chief minister Balochistan, digital facilities will be provided in Gwadar, Pishin, Jaffarabad and Quetta including individual registries, maps, land tax, collection SMS services etc.

He said that under the leadership of chief minister Bizenjo, the government of Balochistan has signed an important agreement with Google under which scholarships are being given to 3,000 youth of Balochistan.

He observed that IT education will be made widespread in the next few years and digitalization of land records will reduce the land disputes which will subsequently result in economic development and trade and agriculture will also increase.

He said that as soon as the money starts coming in the province from the federal government, the chief minister will restart the development work across the province.

On this occasion, the spokesperson of the Balochistan government, Farah Azim Shah said that Balochistan is the largest province in terms of area and here the problems faced by the people with the help of land management will be solved with the introduction of land revenue management system.

She mentioned that making Balochistan digital is the vision of the chief minister and the land revenue management system also part of this vision.

She added and the people will be provided with an online information easily which they can check from their homes.

She noted that the youth would especially benefit from the IT facilities as a large scale training program has been initiated for them. In collaboration with Google, 3,000 students of Balochistan have been offered scholarships in IT sector which is a step in the right direction.

Background

In December last year, Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudous Bizenjo inaugurated the project of digitalization of revenue records and availability of computerized records.

He said that incumbent provincial government was taking serious measures to develop the province in each field with the aim to provide maximum facilities to people across the province. He expressed these views while inaugurating the project of digitalization of revenue.
