KARACHI:

As the metropolitan city remains in the grip of a heat wave, a school has decided to offer free ice cream and healthy drinks to its Class IX and X students sitting their annual examinations.

The students taking their exams are particularly suffering due to lack of facilities at their examination centres. In this situation, the administration of Jamiatul Mustafa Al-Razavia Higher Secondary School, in Gulshan-e-Ghazi, Memon Colony, has decided to facilitate the 812 students taking their annual exam in the sizzling heat.

"When an exam centre for the annual exam was announced at our institute, we had decided that we will provide an environment to the students where they can attempt their papers in a calm and stress-free environment," said Mufti Abid Mubarak of the Jamiatul Mustafa Al-Razavia School. "We are offering them ice-cream and healthy cold drinks. All the students are very happy," he added.

Parents also appreciated the school initiative, saying that if the management of the other exam centres could not offer such facilities, then they should at least provide fans and cold water to the students in the hot weather.
