The additional district and sessions judge for district south on Tuesday issued a show-cause notice to the investigating officer (IO) for his failure to comply with a notice in a case pertaining to gang rape and blackmail.
The IO had failed to comply with a court notice on which the court issued the show-cause.
One of the two accused in the case had filed a request to the court that his phone be returned, which had been seized for investigative purposes.
The court also issued a notice to the public prosecutor and adjourned the hearing until April 20.
According to the first information report (FIR), one of the accused spiked the victim's juice.
When the woman dosed off, the accused raped her and filmed the episode on his cell phone.
He coerced the victim into having intercourse with him several times by blackmailing her over the video.
The FIR was registered at the Saddar police station.
The accused then took the victim to another man and gang-raped her.
The court had granted bail to the two accused at an earlier hearing.
