SBCA ex-head among 18 indicted in Nasla Tower case

Former director believed to have approved the map, and design department’s Farhan Qaiser were also indicted

KARACHI:

An anti-corruption court indicted 18 people including a former director general of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) as well as the director of the design department in the Nasla Tower case. The court also issued summons to the investigating officer (IO) and the witnesses for March 25.

Hearing the Nasla Tower case, declared former DG Manzoor Kaka and three others proclaimed offenders.

Safdar Magsi, a former director who is believed to have approved the Nasla Tower map, and design department’s Farhan Qaiser were also indicted.

They are among 23 people charged in the case.  Officials also said legal action was initiated against the accused, as per Supreme Court orders. A case was filed against the accused in December 2021, they added.
