NUST’s proposed Khuzdar campus will be a ‘game changer’

ISLAMABAD:

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Agha Hassan Baloch has said that the proposed Khuzdar campus of National University of Science and Technology (NUST) will prove to be a “game changer” for Balochistan’s education and research sectors.

He was addressing NUST Rector Lt General (retd) Javed Mehmood Bukhari during a meeting here on Saturday. Bukhari briefed the minister about the performance of the institution.

The minister discussed various aspects pertaining to the establishment of Khuzdar Campus of NUST along with promotion of higher education, especially science and technology in the backward areas of Balochistan and reviewed the possible in this regard.

He said the Ministry of Science and Technology would send a letter to the NUST board of governors’ chairman to apprise him about the importance of the campus.

The meeting was told that work on PC-I would start and that the project will be included in the PSDP of next financial year.

On the suggestion of the federal minister, the huddle decided to establish Khuzdar Block at NUST Balochistan Campus Quetta.
