Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra is the latest celebrity to have been wowed by Saim Sadiq's Joyland. The actor, who has often irked many with her remarks regarding Pakistan, sent love to Pakistan's Oscar Shortlisted film.
Taking to Twitter, the former Miss World shared, "Joyland is truly a joy to watch. Bravo to the entire team for bringing this story to life. It's a must-watch." She went on to tag the Joyland team in her tweet.

Sadiq later went on to thank the Indian star. Chopra has been voicing her support for India's Oscar submission as well. She recently held a screening of The Last Film Show in LA as well as for SS Rajamouli's magnum opus RRR.
Joyland is backed by Pakistani activist and youngest Nobel Prize laureate, Malala Yousafzai and British-Pakistani Oscar and Emmy-winning artist, Riz Ahmed. The duo boarded Sadiq's award-winning film as executive producers.
Earlier this month, the Academy announced that fifteen films advanced to the next round of voting in the International Feature Film category, which includes Pakistan's Joyland as well. Sadiq's directorial continues making waves as it becomes the first local offering to have made it to the next round after being shortlisted.
India's international submission, The Last Film Show, also made the cut, alongside films from Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Cambodia, Demark, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, South Korea and Sweden.
Joyland features a daring portrait of a transgender dancer in Pakistan that first made headlines when it won the Cannes Queer Palm prize for best LGBT, queer or feminist-themed movie. A tale of the sexual revolution, it tells the story of the youngest son in a patriarchal family who is expected to produce a baby boy with his wife. He instead joins an erotic dance theatre and falls for the troupe's director, a trans woman.
Written and directed by Sadiq, and produced by Apoorva Guru Charan, Sarmad Sultan Khoosat and Lauren Mann, Joyland features Ali Junejo, Rasti Farooq, Alina Khan, Sarwat Gillani, Salman Peerzada, Sohail Sameer and Sania Saeed.
