Fugitives found hiding out in a house in Landi Jalandhar

BANNU:

The two attackers who threw grenades and opened fire at a police van in Khyber-Pakthtunkhwa (K-P)'s Bannu district were killed in a police encounter on Monday.

According to the police, both fugitives were found hiding out in a house in Landi Jalandhar. They had killed a policeman and injured another in an attack on Saturday.

Gul Muhammad, SHO of Dumel police station, was on a routine patrol along with his team, when he had signalled the two men on a motorcycle to stop.

The armed suspects lobbed a hand grenade and opened fire using an automatic weapon on the police officials.

Resultantly, head constable Pasham Khan was hit by bullets and died on the spot while constable Shah Wali Khan sustained injuries.

The incident took place within the limits of the Township police station.

The police immediately shifted the dead and injured personnel to the hospital.

As soon as the incident was reported, the township police and other law enforcement personnel had reached the spot and had started chasing the attackers.

The police had cordoned off the entire town and had launched a door-to-door search to arrest the attackers who had fled the scene.
