Police firing kills youth, sparks protest

NOWSHERA:

A young man was killed and another critically injured after alleged firing by police personnel at Sabirabad Police Post in the Nizampur area, prompting swift action from district authorities and sparking public protest.

According to police, District Police Officer Ahmad Shah ordered the immediate registration of a case following the incident. Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Yaqoob Khan, post clerk Alam Sher, and constable Basharat were arrested, and the official weapons used in the firing were taken into custody.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening when Hafeez, son of Muhammad Nadeem and a resident of Darwazgai, Nizampur, was traveling in a car (registration AGL-055) along with his companion, Ubaidullah, son of Gul Muhammad. Upon reaching Sabirabad Police Post, the stationed officials allegedly opened fire on the vehicle.
