PESHAWAR:

A Special Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Peshawar on Thursday rejected the interim bail application of a suspect nominated in a suicide attack case near the Ring Road cattle market and ordered his immediate arrest from the courtroom.

The hearing was conducted by ATC Judge Muhammad Wali Khan, during which the accused, Hamad Mustafa, appeared along with his counsel while the prosecution presented its arguments.

According to the prosecution, the accused is allegedly involved in a suicide attack carried out on May 11, 2025, near a police mobile van of Chamkani Police Station on Ring Road. The incident coincided with a public gathering of JUI, attended by Maulana Fazlur Rehman, where strict security arrangements and road blockades were in place.

The blast resulted in the martyrdom of Sub-Inspector Laiqzada and Constable Alamzeb, while two police personnel and two civilians sustained injuries.
