Pakistan Peoples Party-led Sindh government is busy in political maneuvering while Karachi's people re getting killed by muggers with impunity, said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders at a press conference on Monday.
"The end of 2022 saw NED student Bilal killed by robbers, while 2023 dawned with the murder of a BBA student of Iqra University," said PTI parliamentary leader in Sindh Assembly Khurram Sher Zaman.
Bilal Ghaffar, Sidra Imran, Dr Sunjay, Mehmood Maulvi, Shahzad Qureshi, Gohar Khatak and other were also present on the occasion.
Zaman while talking to the media said, "we held meeting with the Additional Inspector General (AIG) due to situation of the Karachi city. We told the AIG that 81,000 incidents of crimes reported in Karachi in a year. On this, AIG told us that figure of 81,000 is wrong, 84,000 incidents have been recorded."
He held Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah responsible for the worst situation of Karachi because the CM holds the portfolio of home ministry. PPP has turned the city of lights into a city of crime, Zaman said adding that the metropolis was in racks and ruins due to lack of potable water, sanitation system, gas and power.
After the regime change, the allied parties of the federation did not raise their voice for Karachi. He said that "Majboor Qaumi Movement" was making political deals for its vested interests. There is no gas in Karachi. While Imran Khan provided additional 600 Megawat gas to Karachi.
He said that the number of patients with back ache in hospitals is increasing because the roads of the entire city are in disrepair. The political administrator only made money and left after making money. There is a shortage of graveyards in Karachi. Whether rich or poor, the cost of cemeteries is not less than Rs100,000.
