PESHAWAR:

The session of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly was adjourned indefinitely on Friday, technically paving the way for the dissolution of the assembly.

The assembly session was considered the biggest hurdle in this regard which has now been removed and the chief minister could now send an advice to the K-P governor for the move.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has already announced that assemblies could be dissolved on December 17 (today). There were rumours that the assembly had been in session for the past five months and it was the biggest technical hurdle in its dissolution.

The governor is bound to approve the dissolution of assembly within 24 hours of receiving an advice from the chief minister otherwise the assembly would dissolve automatically. When the session started on Friday, the deputy speaker announced prayers for the victims of the Army Public School (APS) tragedy.
