Three people, including two women, lost their lives in different road incidents in the twin cities on Monday.

Police said that the first incident took place in the limits of Mandra police station, where unidentified men opened fire and killed a woman named Azra for cutting grass from the crop. They added that the suspects fled after committing the crime.

The police reached the spot and after collecting the necessary evidence from the scene, shifted the body to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gujjar Khan. Later, the body was handed over to her family.

The police said that a case has been registered against the suspect.

In another incident, the body of a man was found outside the high school in Dhamial police station.

According to the police, the deceased was a drug addict but more facts will be unearthed after receiving the post-mortem report. The body was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for fulfilling medico-legal formalities.

Rawalpindi police took against suspected drug peddlers and bootleggers on Monday, arresting six accused along with recovering 5,825 grams of narcotics and 10 litres of liquor from their possession.

A police spokesperson said that City police held Kaleem, one of the accused, for having 100 grams of hashish. While Westridge police rounded up an accused, namely Nasim Mehmood, in possession of 1,365 grams of hashish. R.A. Bazar police arrested Saleem Mumtaz, recovering 1,100 grams of charras, and Pitras for possessing 10 litres of liquor.

Naseerabad police also rounded up Shehzad for possessing 1,150 grams of charras and Safian with 1,110 grams of hashish. The spokesperson said that police registered separate cases against all suspects while further investigations are underway.
