HYDERABAD:

Anti-Terrorism Court Hyderabad awarded death penalty, imprisonment and fine to a person accused of rape and murders of two minor siblings. ATC Judge Saleem Raza Baloch in his verdict found Usman Bangali Murghi Wala guilty of raping and killing eightyear-old Rukhsana Siyal.

Her 12-year-old brother Qadir Bux Siyal, was also stabbed by the convict. Later, Qadir died after one day in the hospital. The grisly incident happened in July 2019 and the trial of the crime continued for more than three years.

According to the FIR, which was registered at GOR police station on the complaint of victims' father Intizar Hussain Siyal, the siblings left home at around 6pm on July 8, 2019, but did return.

The family filed initial complaint at the police station a few hours after the incident. Around 11pm on the same night the police informed the family that Bux has been found on the Airport road in a critically injured condition.

"When I reached the hospital I saw my son soaked in blood and writhing in pain on the hospital bed." These were the words of the bereaved father which he also stated in the FIR lodged under sections 302 and 364/A of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Meanwhile, Ruskhsana was found dead from Bismillah city locality after two days. Her body had swollen beyond recognition but Siyal identified his daughter with the help of her clothes and shoes. She was stabbed and throttled to death. Earlier on Thursday, the same judge convicted a man, Siddiqui Bengali, who was accused of rape and murder of a minor, with the death penalty.
