US Ambassador Donald Blome visited the Quaid-e-Azam Dak Bungalow on Sunday during his first visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Blome said that the bungalow "symbolises the cultural and historical richness of Pakistan".
He noted that Muhammad Ali Jinnah had visited the site in 1944 and hence, he was "honoured" to visit it during his first trip to AJK.

Referring to the damage caused by the earthquake in 2005, he said that "the local government has beautifully restored this heritage site for the benefit of the community and visiting travelers."

The US ambassador further highlighted that the US has helped restore 32 historic and cultural sites across Pakistan, "totaling more than $7.1 million".

Earlier, Blome called on Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman at the Governor House to discuss the flood situation and promotion of bilateral trade.
Rehman said Pakistan values the long-standing relations with the US and their cooperation in various fields.

The ambassador said that bilateral cooperation will be further promoted in various fields including education, health and trade.
The governor thanked the US for the aid for the flood victims, adding that the international community should provide humanitarian assistance to the flood victims in this difficult time.
After the meeting, Blome also made a short visit to the historic building of the Governor House.
