'Symbol of cultural richness,' says Blome on visit to Quaid-e-Azam Dak Bungalow in AJK
US Ambassador Donald Blome visited the Quaid-e-Azam Dak Bungalow on Sunday during his first visit to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
Taking to his official Twitter handle, Blome said that the bungalow "symbolises the cultural and historical richness of Pakistan".
He noted that Muhammad Ali Jinnah had visited the site in 1944 and hence, he was "honoured" to visit it during his first trip to AJK.
Referring to the damage caused by the earthquake in 2005, he said that "the local government has beautifully restored this heritage site for the benefit of the community and visiting travelers."
The US ambassador further highlighted that the US has helped restore 32 historic and cultural sites across Pakistan, "totaling more than $7.1 million".
