Rawalpindi police say he was a drug addict

Armed men stabbed a man to death within the limits of Bani police station on Saturday.

According to the police, Shehzad Ahmed, a police officer assigned on security duty, said that he was on duty on Jamia Masjid road when he spotted a boy on the footpath. The man was stabbed with a sharp object, he said, adding that apparently, he was a drug addict.

The police have registered a case and started an investigation.

Meanwhile, police arrested 11 illegal arm holders and recovered arms, ammunition and iron rod from their possession on Saturday.

Bani police held Idrees and recovered one pistol from his possession while Naseerabad police arrested Fahad and recovered one pistol.

Airport police nabbed Zeeshan and recovered one pistol from his possession. Mandra police recovered one pistol from Hashmat, and same police recovered one pistol from Roohullah and one rifle and one pistol from his possession.

Chakri police arrested Shahzad and recovered one rifle and the same police recovered one rifle from Aqeel and one rifle from Majid.

Kahuta police recovered one pistol from Waleed and the same police recovered one pistol from Ibrahim, while Rawat police recovered iron mace from Mursalin.

Police have registered separate cases against all of them and further investigation is in progress. SSP Operations Waseem Riaz Khan said that the crackdown would be continued against those possessing illegal arms.
