The parliamentary leader in the Sindh Assembly, Khurrum Sher Zaman on Monday sent a letter to Karachi Administrator, Murtaza Wahab, expressing his concerns about poor governance and a number of issues the city is facing.
Sher Zaman in his letter questions Wahab, "what he has done to improve the condition of Karachi since he took over as administrator of Karachi on August 5, 2021."
Furthermore, the PTI leader mentioned that In the Economist Magazine's 2022 survey, Karachi was ranked 168th amongst 173 cities with an index score of 37.5. This means Karachi is the least livable city in the world, which shows the PPP-led Sindh government's performance.
The PTI leader questioned: Why were no major improvements done to city's physical infrastructure like roads, drainage, and streetlights?; Why cleaning of drainage and sewerage system is hardly done ahead of the monsoon season?; What is the KMC doing to tackle the water tanker mafia?
He further said what is the KMC doing to enhance the green spaces which have been reducing over time and is adversely impacting Karachi's environment?; Rising cases of dengue in Karachi points to why the fumigation campaign wass not carried out on time?; Why is there a lack of fire stations and fire tenders?; Why is there a lack of ambulances as per the population of Karachi?; What is KMC's strategy to address the issue of stray dogs?; What measures have been taken to combat encroachments along the roadside throughout the city?
Sher Zaman hopes that Karachi administrator will respond to the concerns and queries that Karachiites have.
