Cop fatally shoots friend during liquor party

KARACHI:

A policeman allegedly shot and killed his friend inside his house in Korangi No 3 on Tuesday.

According to Malik Amir, SHO Korangi police station, policeman Shahzeb was having an alcohol party with his friends at his home, when an argument started, which triggered him to fatally shoot one of them, identified as 19-year-old Sufyan.

The alleged shooter fled the scene while his other friends also escaped. However, police rounded them up later. The body was shifted to JPMC for medico-legal formalities

Korangi police registered a murder case against Shahzeb on the complaint of the victim's father Muhammad Javed, who claimed that Shahzeb is a policeman.

Police have taken into custody three friends of Sufyan, who are witnesses to the fatal shooting, for interrogation, while the alleged shooter is on the run.
