Three people lost their lives while seven suffer serious injuries when a passenger van and a dumber collided with each other near on Hazara road near Wah Cantonment police station on Friday.
The deceased and the injured were rushed to the hospital. Two of the victims, who were commuting to work, belonged to Haripur.
According to police sources, the dead and injured were shifted to the hospital where the condition of two stated to be critical. The dead were identified as Roshin Deen, Ajmal Khan and Husnain Shah. Wah Cantonment Police registered a case.
Police said that the dumper driver also died in the accident. He was a resident of Hasanabdal. One of the deceased was identified as Hasnain Shah and he was a resident of Haripur. Later, the police handed over the bodies to their families.
Meanwhile, WAPDA’s entire fleet of vehicles at Tarbela, including the shift buses, would be at a grinding halt due to the non-availability of diesel.
According to the employees, all of the buses would be parked in the transport pool, which would not only disrupt workers’ shift duties but also the shifts for the colleges and schools.
According to sources, Tarbela WAPDA is not receiving funds from the Accounts Office on time due to the non-availability of diesel. The Dam administration sources said that the matter would be resolved soon.
In contrast to Tarbela Dam, the collection of arrears from other WAPDA project offices is underway.
