RAWALPINDI:

At Holy Family Hospital, 115 employees were paid salaries for 22 days instead of 30.

The affected employees have appealed to the Punjab chief minister for redressal, while hospital management has sought guidance from the Punjab government regarding salary payments and employment status.

According to sources, employees working in various departments under the 2024 contract policy, permanent workmen, and work-charge permanent employees, totaling 115, faced salary payment issues.

For January and February 2026, they were paid salaries for 22 days instead of the full month. The shortage of funds in the Commercial and Personal Ledger Account (PLA) was cited as the reason.

Medical Superintendent Holy Family Hospital Dr Akhtar Mahmood Malik, in a letter dated January 31, 2026, to the Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department, requested clear guidelines regarding the salaries and job status of these employees.

Employees deprived of eight days' salary appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz to establish a proper salary system and ensure regular payments.

They pointed out that unlike Holy Family Hospital, daily-wage employees at Benazir Bhutto General Hospital and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital have still not been granted regular employment status and have also appealed for permanent status.
