A seminar on the benefits of breast milk was held at the DHO office in Kangra Colony on Saturday.

District Health Officer Haripur Dr Munawar Khan Afridi presided over the seminar.

MNCH Coordinator Dr Nazneen Imran briefed regarding the “Benefits of Breast millk” to the participants. She said that, "Breast milk has health benefits for both babies and mothers. A new born gets the best nutrition from breast milk. It also protects the mother against certain illnesses and diseases."

Haripur District Health Officer Dr Sher Bahadur said, "All mothers should breastfeed their babies for at least two years because formula milk can never be a substitute for it."

Coordinator Dr Asad Mahmood said, "Breast milk contains all kinds of natural antibiotics and multivitamins.

As a result, the child's health and immunity are boosted. By referring to a study, Dr Munawar Khan Afridi said, "Research shows mothers who breastfeed their infants lower their risk of breast cancer." Furthermore, an awareness walk also took place in Kangra Colony regarding the benefits of breast milk.
