Carpenter shot dead ‘over old enmity’

A carpenter was shot dead over 'old enmity' at his residence in Korangi on Saturday.

As per details, two armed suspects broke into the carpenter's house located within the limits of Zaman Town police station area and opened fire on him. Consequently, the victim, Shoaib Ishtiaq, 30, was seriously injured. He was shifted to Jinnah Hospital for immediate medical assistance where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Station house Officer (SHO) Zahid Lodhi said that two unknown armed suspects entered the house of the deceased. They first asked about the victim's brother, Arshad, and then opened fire at Shoaib. The victim received a bullet in the head, said the SHO.

The SHO said that the preliminary investigation revealed that the incident was a result of an old enmity between the suspects and the victim.

Police found an empty shell of 30 bore bullet from the crime scene. A case has been registered against the unidentified suspects while further investigation into the matter is under way.
