The wife and brother-in-law of slain textile manufacturer and exporter, Rizwan Surya, who was murdered 10 days ago in the Sharfabad area of Bahadurabad, were arrested on Wednesday morning. Important revelations have surfaced during the investigation of the brutal murder, police said.
According to police officials, during the investigation, they found that Rizwan Surya had given Rs15 million to his wife's cousin and asked for his money back. Investigating authorities say that the deceased's wife has also gotten a house and a warehouse transferred in her name, and it is suspected that she also wanted to get the house, in which the deceased businessman was residing, registered in her name.
The businessman's murder was planned by his wife, Noureen, and her brother, Imran alias Gulfam, along with their two cousins, Hassan & Sajjad. The brother-in-law and his cousin were staying at a hotel near Cantt Station. Noureen had deliberately turned off the CCTV cameras installed in the house.
During interrogation, Imran confessed that his arrested sister had been putting pressure on him to remove her husband from her path for the last two months and that he bought a knife from the market for Rs700 to kill his brother-in-law.
On July 26, unknown suspects entered house No336 on Street No19 in the Sharafabad area of Bahadurabad police station and killed 42-year-old businessman Rizwan Surya, son of Mustafa Surya, by tying his hands behind his back and slitting his neck with a sharp instrument. The police had registered the case of murder of the businessman on the complaint of the victim's brother Khurram Mustafa and launched an investigation.
According to the investigating authorities, Noureen was in contact with her cousin Hasan through mobile phone before and after the murder. The victim's widow Noureen and her brother Imran were arrested based on the technical evidence, while Hasan and Sajjad are still at large.
According to the investigating authorities, Noureen had also gotten a house and a warehouse transferred in her name from the victim, and it is suspected that the victim was not transferring the house, in which he was residing, in the name of his wife due to which Noureen and Hassan prepared a plan to murder him.
Rizwan had married Noureen 18 years ago, and both have four children. The accused told the police that his sister Noureen was constantly pressuring him to kill her husband for the last two months, but he could not find any reliable partner.
