KARACHI:

A police party is departing for Punjab to arrest the murder suspects of textile manufacturer and exporter Rizwan Surya.

Police discovered specific mobile phone numbers throughout their investigation, which were active, and located in the Punjab province.

The Bahdurabad police station officials have sent the mandatory request to Sindh Home Department, which will forward it to the Punjab Home Department and allow passage and jurisdiction to Karachi cops to pick the suspects.

New divulgences

Startling revelations have come out in the murder case of Rizwan Surya, a famous businessman of Bahadurabad running a textile industry, after the police interrogated the victim's wife, brother-in-law and a relative.

Earlier police took the domestic maid into custody, but released her due to lack of evidence. The investigators claim that the murder is linked with the in-laws of Surya.

Police found through the call data records (CDR) that Imran, brother-in-law of the deceased, was staying in a hotel near Cantt Railway Station along with a friend and left the hotel on July 27 after the incident.

Police included Imran on the list of suspicious persons when he did not even attend the funeral of his brother-in-law.

According to the preliminary investigation, Surya had contracted a second marriage and was hiding it from his wife and children.

However, the first wife learned about her husband's second marriage some time ago. Still, the investigators believe that the reason for the murder was not a secret marriage. The police suspect Surya was killed to grab his large businesses and properties.

Surya was found dead at his home in the Sharfabad area, within the limits of Newtown Police Station on July 26. The victim was alone at home at the time of the incident.

Khurram Mustafa Surya, the deceased's brother, stated in the FIR of the murder case that his brother's wife and children had gone to their maternal uncle's house at around 4:30. When they came back at 10:30pm, the house's main door was open. Rizwan was lying dead on the bed in the room, covered in blood while his hands were tied behind his back. The deceased has four children, and the eldest daughter is 16 years old.
