New CM thanks Imran for trust, support

Discusses political situation in province with PTI leader

After assuming charge of his office, Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi – along with his son, former federal minister Moonis Elahi called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday.

Khan felicitated Elahi on assuming the office of the chief minister. Elahi thanked Imran Khan for his trust. Both the leaders discussed current political situation in detail during the meeting. Dr Shahbaz Gill was also present in the meeting. Meanwhile, the new CM expressed his deep sense of sorrow and grief over the human and financial loss due to flood in Rajanpur.

He directed the Dera Ghazi Khan commissioner to oversee the relief activities and all possible assistance should be provided to the flood victims. He also instructed provision of food and medical aid to flood victims, besides provision of fodder to the livestock.

He also sought a report from the commissioner about human and financial losses and directed him to do estimation of damages which occurred to the fields, houses and other properties.

The chief minister also sought report from Rawalpindi commissioner about the death of two children due to drowning in a pond and ordered that a report should be submitted to him after holding an inquiry.
