Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter on Wednesday said that it will strongly oppose the G-20 summit scheduled to be held in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
PML-N AJK President Shah Ghulam Qadir announced the decision while addressing a presser at the Central Press Club, Muzaffarabad. He was flanked Secretary General Tariq Farooq and other senior leaders of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Qadir said that IIOJK was a disputed territory where any kind of international event had no significance except to please India.
India, he added, was making an attempt to hoodwink the world on the current situation of the occupied territory. He urged the government of Pakistan and the Foreign Office to oppose the official G-20 summit.
Qadir further termed the establishment of a tourism development authority in AJK a bid to grab the forest land.
The matter, he maintained, had already been conveyed to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He noted that Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman had also assured the PML-N leadership that all political parties of the region would be taken on board on any amendment in the Constitution.
He accused the AJK government of resorting to a politics of revenge from political opponents.
According to Qadir, all current transfers and postings were being made in the name of political affiliations. He warned the bureaucracy to stay away from political transfers and postings in government departments.
The PML-N leader on the occasion thanked PML-N leadership in Centre for re-organising and restructuring the party. He vowed to secure 36 seats in the forthcoming polls in AJK.
Expressing his views, Tariq Farooq strongly opposed the potential removal of 13th amendment from the AJK Constitution.
He added that despite its reservations on de-limitations, PML-N will contest the local body elections in all 10 districts of AJK.
