As the danger of dengue continues to stalks Punjab with the fresh spell of monsoon, Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz Sharif has directed the authorities concerned to take necessary steps to avert the disease.
The CM issued warning to the administrative officers of four districts for showing unsatisfactory performance. He asserted that any sort of negligence would not be tolerated as it relates to human lives.
The chief minister reviewed the performance of departments regarding dengue campaign. Hamza asserted that negligence would not be tolerated as dengue issue was related to human lives.
He directed the authorities concerned to undertake timely measures for the eradication of dengue. The CM chaired a meeting to review anti-dengue campaign in the province.
Hamza directed the departments concerned to overcome their shortcomings along with playing a vigorous role in dengue eradication. The CM ordered to constitute monitoring committees at the level of union councils for the eradication of dengue.
The CM while addressing the review meeting, he also warned that disciplinary action would be initiated against the officers for showing unsatisfactory performance with regard to anti-dengue campaign.
He directed the deputy commissioners to visit the field for the monitoring of dengue control campaign.
He also directed the district health officers to visit field in every district in order to monitor the dengue control campaign.
The specialists briefed during the meeting that it is necessary to completely eradicate dengue larva. Provincial Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, chief secretary, Principal Secretary to CM, Secretaries of concerned departments, Lahore commissioner division and senior officials attended the meeting while Divisional Commissioners attended the meeting via video link.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued on Friday, the CM congratulated pilgrims in Makkah who have been performing Hajj.
“May the lives of all human beings become more painless; he stated and prayed that may Allah Almighty also bless him and his political and administrative team members with the opportunities to lessen the sufferings of the people in need,” the CM prayed.
