A six-member medical board will exhume body of renowned TV anchor and MNA Aamir Liaquat on Thursday.
The board led by Dr Samia Saeed comprises additional police surgeon Shahid Nizam, Sindh Police Forensic Department Head Pervez Makhdoom, forensic experts Dr Hari Ram Lohana, Dr Gulzar Ali Solangi, and MLO Dr Araib Baqai. Earlier, Judicial Magistrate East, Wazir Hussain Memon had issued a written order to secretary health to constitute medical board to ascertain the causes of death of deceased Dr Aamir Liaquat.
Judicial magistrate had written a letter to health secretary whereby he had ordered to take necessary measures for conducting the postmortem.
Ex-wife against autopsy
Bushra Iqbal, ex-wife of Aamir Liaquat, obtained a copy of the judicial magistrate's order to conduct an autopsy on his body. The step is meant to file a petition against the decision to open the grave and conduct the postmortem.
On June 20, East Judicial Magistrate Wazir Hussain Memon wrote a letter to the health secretary, ordering the formation of a medical board to conduct a postmortem on the body of the renowned anchor.
Earlier, on June 18, Abdul Ahad had filed a petition for an autopsy of the anchor and his appeal was accepted by the court. The public prosecutor argued that the legal heirs did not want an autopsy as it would "hurt the deceased's soul". The legal heirs said they did not suspect any foul play.
According to the police surgeon, the cause of death could not be determined without an internal examination of the body. Barrister Arsalan, counsel for petitioner Abdul Ahad, had argued that Aamir Liaquat Hussain had died suddenly and mysteriously
Aamir Liaquat was a well-known TV host and politician. The sudden death of Aamir Liaquat Hussain has raised suspicions among his fans. It is suspected he was killed over a property dispute.
The deceased's legal heirs, public prosecutor and SHO brigade appeared in court.
Plea to file cyber crime case against Dania Shah
Separately, the South district and sessions judge issued notices to the FIA Cyber crime wing director and others on a petition seeking action under the Cyber Crimes Act against Dania Shah, the third wife of Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
The petition seeking was heard in the Karachi City Court before the court of South district and sessions judge.
Counsel for the petitioner argued that the court should order the FIA to take action against Dania Shah, who had made obscene videos of Aamir Liaquat viral on social media.
"Dania Shah insulted the dignity of Pakistani women. She should be punished for making her husband's obscene videos go viral over a minor dispute."Court issued the mentioned and sought a reply from the parties by July 6.
