Punjab records 993 road crashes in a day

Statistics showed 263 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 292 people

At least four people died, whereas 1,075 were injured in 993 road traffic crashes (RTCs) in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours.

At least 637 people were seriously injured, who were shifted to hospitals, whereas 438 with minor injuries were treated at the incident sites. As many as 72 per cent of the accidents involved motorbikes.

Official data showed that 475 adult and 42 underage drivers, 113 pedestrians and 491 passengers were among those affected by the road traffic crashes.

The statistics showed that 263 RTCs were reported in Lahore, which affected 292 people, followed by 87 in Multan with 81 victims and 62 in Faisalabad with 75 victims. The road traffic crashes affected 825 males and 254 females, of whom 250 were under 18 years of age, 514 between 18 and 40 years and 315 above 40 years old.
