Police register case against fleeing accused

ISLAMABAD:

A man shot and killed his sister and daughter within the limits of Nilore police station and fled after committing the crime late Monday night.

The police said that the suspect, identified as Khizar Hayat, opened fire at his sister, Parveen and daughter, Maryam at their house in Soti Di Puri area near Charah Chowk and fled. They added that according to the preliminary investigation, the tragic incident of double murder took place over a marriage proposal and property dispute.

The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital to complete legal and medical formalities. The police formed a team to arrest the accused and further investigation is underway.

According to police, IG Islamabad Dr Akbar Nasir Khan has asked SP Rural to submit a report.

Company van looted

Three armed robbers looted a van in the jurisdiction of Sabzi Mandi police station in the federal capital on Tuesday.

Police said that the robbers got away with Rs6million from a van that was on its way to a bank. They added that the van belonged to a food distributing company.

Despite Safe City cameras, police could not locate the suspects. Police said that three unidentified armed robbers stopped the van of a distributor company carrying Rs6 million and fled after committing the crime.

They added that the robbers chased the cash van from I-9 Sector and just as the van approached the auto market, the suspects stopped the van and looted the cash at gunpoint from the company’s man.

IG Dr Akbar Nasir Khan sought a report from SP Industrial Area and directed the police officials to arrest the accused and recover the looted money.
