QAT calls for liberating Sindh from clutches of feudal lords

HYDERABAD:

Time has come to liberate Sindh from the clutches of cruel feudal lords, corrupt politicians and terrorists who have deprived the people of their rights, development and peace, said Qomi Awami Tehreek President Ayaz Latif Palijo on Sunday. Addressing a QAT rally at Pipri on the outskirts of Karachi, Palijo said, "the government [ruling coalition in the center] and the opposition [Pakistan Tehreek-eInsaf] should clarify what agenda they have for Sindh?"

He said the prevailing political uncertainty is causing immense socio-economic losses to the country. The unrelenting flight of the dollar and the associated inflation have broken the back of the people as a consequence of the political situation. The QAT's leader believed that the solution to the problem affecting Pakistan lies in a just, democratic and strong federation.

"We want to see supremacy of democracy and constitution in the country." He demanded that before the general elections the parliament should give a roadmap for development and the courts should ensure transparency in the electoral process.

Referring to the apparently strained relations of Pakistan with the US, he said Pakistan needed to maintain good relations with the global community. "The isolation will entail consequences for the country." Palijo said the people of Karachi want to see an end to terrorism whose recent wave has claimed many lives including of the Chinese nationals. Commenting on the power sharing agreement between PPP, PML-N, MQM-P, he said they reject that anti Sindh agreement. He blamed MQM-P for ignoring the people of Karachi during its several stints in the power over the last three decades.

The water shortage is taking drought like condition in the province as Sindh's share of water is being continuously denied by the incumbent government. The QAT president argued that education, health, agriculture and other sectors in Sindh have destroyed due to bad governance in the province. He urged the working class, the middle class and the youth to actively participate in the upcoming local government elections. He called for restoring the Sindh Public Service Commission.
