Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday took notice of the spread of the cholera epidemic in Pir Koh, Dera Bugti.
The premier directed federal and provincial governments to take steps on an emergency basis to help stop the spread of cholera.
PM Shehbaz ordered the provision of medicine, food items, clean drinking water and other assistance to the affected people in Pir Koh.
According to initial reports, the district administration of Pir Koh had provided medicine and water and was also providing more tankers for the area.
Earlier this week, Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Quddus Bizenjo approved Rs300 million for the provision of clean drinking water to the residents of Pir Koh.

The CM allocated these funds on an emergency basis after a cholera outbreak in the village on Wednesday which left four dead and hundreds of others hospitalised.
He directed the finance department to ensure the timely release of the amount to support the people of Pir Koh.
The provincial government declared an emergency in the area to cope with the situation.
So far, the outbreak of cholera has claimed four lives in Pir Koh as per the local district health officer (DHO). He added that the number of patients hit by cholera reached 1,700 on Friday.
