Accused in prisoner’s murder case held

Police say they have also recovered weapon used in crime

Saeed Aslam’s body, who was killed the other day outside court premises while being in police custody, was handed over to his family after postmortem.

Police arrested the main accused and registered a case.

It was stated in the case filed by Kabir Hussain, a resident of People’s Town Street No. 9, Faisalabad, that his nephew, Saeed Aslam, came out of the court after his appearance and the accused, Noman alias Bhola, shot and seriously injured him and later Ali Raza fired in the air and sat on Noman alias Bhola’s motorcycle and escaped.

“My nephew died of his injuries on the spot,” he said.

Police City Samundari registered a case against both the accused under Sections 302 and 109 of the PPC.

Meanwhile, a party led by DSP of Samundari, Sheikh Nasir Abbas, conducted raids at various places and arrested the main accused, Noman alias Bhola. They also allegedly recovered the murder weapon and started the investigation process.

According to details, to avenge his brother’s murder, a youth, along with his accomplice, shot dead the accused outside the court who had come for hearing.

The assailants fired in the air and fled. After the murder in the district court, panic had spread among the lawyers.

Senior police officers, including SSP Investigation, rushed to the spot.
