LAHORE:

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has decided to launch a nationwide public outreach campaign for the accountability of those involved in sloganeering at the Masjid-i-Nabwi in Madina.

According to a statement issued by the media cell of the party, large gatherings will be organised in Karachi and Peshawar. JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, central as well as provincial leaders will address these gatherings.

A rally will be held at Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi, on May 19, while another gathering will be held in Peshawar on May 21.
Party spokesperson Muhammad Aslam Ghauri said that those who violated the sanctity of Masjid-i-Nabwi would be pursued on every front.

He said that his party is “always in the field of public interest, including protection of religious values”.

He added that party workers had started preparations for the gatherings. “It is time to bury [Imran Khan] Niazi’s false statement,” he added.

The spokesperson said that the JUI-F was the “only religious party which has to protect democracy, as well as Islamic provisions of the Constitution and Islamic rites”.

“The JUI’s mission to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state will continue, God willing,” he said.

He remarked that the struggle of his party’s leadership and workers in removing an “incompetent government” from power would be remembered.
