LAHORE:

A constable had been suspended while suspension of the SHO of the Manawan Police Station was recommended.

Manawan DSP issued an explanatory letter after the Moharar and the SHO of Manawan Police Station allegedly got embroiled in a conflict.

According to a report written on April 18 by Moharar Pervaiz of the Manawan Police Station, the SHO of Manawan, Ali Sher, had allegedly engaged a few private persons who would not only capture suspects but would also subject them to brutal torture and extract money from them.

He continued that he often misbehaved with him in front of private persons without any reason. He said that he had requested the SHO many times to not to hurt his self-esteem but to no avail.

He said that instead of considering his request, the SHO asked him to get himself transferred to some other police station or else he would tarnish his reputation.

Pervaiz also referred to an instance of the SHO’s misbehavior towards him when he had gone to see him to report about prosecution against a drug dealer submitted by a sub-inspector. As was highlighted, DIG Operations Dr Abid Khan took notice of the incident and asked SSP Mustansir Feroz to conduct an inquiry.

Cantonment SP Essa Sukhera reached the police station and issued an explanatory letter to the DSP of Manawan Police Station, Naem Virk, recommending suspension of the SHO and Moharar of the Manawan Police Station and issued orders of immediate suspension of Constable Sultan.
