Houston-Karachi Sister Cities discuss projects

Exchange of bilateral trade, cultural and youth exchange were discussed at the meeting

KARACHI:

Urban forest, sports facilities and drugs rehabilitation center are among the projects the Houston-Karachi Sister Cities Association and the American Business Council (ABC) of Pakistan have agreed to help set up in Karachi.

Karachi Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Memon accompanied by Houston-Karachi Sister Cities Association President Muhammad Saeed Sheikh visited ABC on Monday and held a meeting with the council to seek cooperation received for community-based projects. Houston-Karachi Sister Cities Association Patron-in-Chief Majyd Aziz and Association President Kashif Ghias also accompanied them. ABC General Secretary Ayesha Tahir Masood received the delegation.

ABC Executive Committee Member Adnan Asad and Special Projects Coordinator Saira Irfan were also present.

Exchange of bilateral trade, cultural and youth exchange were discussed at the meeting.

Commissioner Memon said that the Karachi administration is fully supporting Houston- Karachi Sister Cities Association to bring projects and contribute in betterment of Karachi city.In this regard, it has been agreed to set up urban forest, sports facilities and drugs rehabilitation center in the city.

Houston-Karachi Sister Cities Association President Saeed Sheikh said a delegation led by Houston City Mayor will soon to visit Karachi to explore the opportunities.
