Security forces killed two terrorists in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.

The military's media wing stated that an intelligence based operation was conducted in the area after reports of terrorist presence.

In an intense exchange of fire, the two terrorists was killed. The military identified one as Asmatullah, known by the alias Hafiz. Identification of the other terrorist is in progress.

The terrorists were wanted for activities against security forces, target killing and kidnapping for ransom.

The ISPR added that a "huge cache of weapons and ammunition" including sub-machine guns, hand grenades and a large quantity of multiple calibre rounds were seized.

Earlier this week, in another IBO, a large number of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the hideout.

"Recovered weapons and ammunition include sub-machine guns, hand grenades, RPG-7 rockets, IEDs, material used in the preparation of IEDs, communication equipment and hundreds of multiple calibre rounds," ISPR had said.
