Police on Wednesday baton-charged protesting doctors and paramedics and arrested 25 doctors.
The members of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) and the Paramedical Staff Association brought out a rally from Sandeman Provincial Hospital and marched towards the Red Zone as per their announced schedule.
A large number of doctors and paramedics participated in the rally who were chanting slogans against the government.
They were however stopped by police before they could enter the Red Zone following which clashes ensued between the two groups. Police was then ordered to baton charge the doctors and paramedics in order to disperse them.
SSP Operations Quetta Abdul Haq said that 20 to 25 protesters had been arrested.
