QUETTA:

Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo has taken notice of illegal hunting and deforestation in Turbat after reports appeared on social media about it.

The Chief Minister sought a report from Commissioner Makran and directed him to take notice against those responsible.

“Strict prevention of poaching and protection of wildlife should be ensured in all cases,” he ordered.

“Action should be taken against those involved in poaching under Wildlife Protection Act,” the CM directed the commissioner. He directed that effective action plan should be formulated to curb illegal deforestation on permanent basis in the area.

“Department of Forests and Wildlife should be alerted to prevent poaching and deforestation in the area,” he said, adding that assistance should also be provided to law enforcement agencies in order to help them carry out their duty effectively and without any difficulty,” he insisted.

The CM said that conservation of forests and wildlife is the top priority of the government and wildlife protection laws should be strictly enforced.

Forests and wildlife play an important role in the protection of the environment and no one should be allowed to risk the environment for their own entertainment and financial gains, he said.

He directed that all the commissioners of the province with the guidance and assistance of the Home Department should ensure complete eradication of poaching across the province.
