Priyanka Chopra plays adult Sati in Warner Brothers’ forthcoming film ‘The Matrix Resurrections’

An official confirmation gets fans excited for the Bollywood superstar in a ‘befitting role with superpowers’

Conquering Bollywood and Hollywood with her acting talents, Priyanka Chopra Jonas will be seen essaying the character of a grown-up Sati in her upcoming film, The Matrix Resurrections. Although many speculated the role for the Quantico starlet, the Warner Brothers’ production team has officially confirmed Priyanka’s character ahead of the movie’s release.

According to, Warner Brothers’ described Sati as “a young woman with a wisdom that belies her years and an ability to see the truth, no matter how murky the waters”. The younger Sati was essayed by Tanveer Atwal in The Matrix Revolutions while Priyanka will play the adult version in the forthcoming film.

After the revelation, a fan club post on Instagram had comments pouring from fans excited to see the Baywatch actor in a new role. "Omg! Amazing! Such a befitting role for her," wrote a user while another added, “I have always wanted her to get roles with powers.”

Priyanka shared the new trailer of the film on Instagram with the caption, “Remember what is real.” It features The White Tiger starlet speaking her first lines, “The most important choice of Neo's life is not his to make.” Before an official statement, Warner Brothers Korea revealed posters of the movie’s English counterpart on Instagram last month, featuring Priyanka along with the title of the film and her character’s name, all in the Korean language.

Directed by Lana Wachowski, The Matrix Resurrections will hit cinemas on December 22. While actors Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss return in the film in their respective roles, the film also features some new additions like Jada Pinkett Smith, Jessica Henwick, Christina Ricci, Neil Patrick Harris and Jonathan Groff .
