The Pakistani cinemas reopened with Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbas Khan-starrer, Khel Khel Mein. The film, released on November 19, revolves around the Fall of Dhaka. The first reviews of the Fizza Ali Meerza and Nabeel Qureshi directorial are in as many laud the film for its different storyline. However, few critics criticised the film for being too one-dimensional.
Khel Khel Mein received ample support from the film industry. Several actors, producers as well as politicians extended support for the revival of the Pakistani cinemas with local production. Actor-turned-producer Fahad Mustafa has now pleaded with the bloggers to let the audience decide whether a film is worth a watch or not, rather than influencing viewers with their opinions.
In an Instagram post, the Load Wedding star penned, "To all the bloggers: With all due respect, let people go and watch the movie first, your reviews can wait." He added, "You coming up with reviews (be it right or wrong), can damage the film big time and it won't help the industry in any way. This industry needs support. Let the people decide if the film is worth watching or not."
Fahad's thoughts were mirrored by his peers. The likes Aijaz Aslam, Mehwish Hayat, Yasir Hussain, Wajahat Rauf, Naveed Raza among others shared similar stances. "It is imperative that the audience decide whether the film is worth watching or not," penned the Jhooti star.
The fan-favourite duo of Bilal and Sajal has previously graced the silver screen together in O’Rangreza and their chemistry had left fans swooning. Previously, upon becoming a part of Khel Khel Mein, Bilal had penned, “Working with the finest producer and director duo in the country for the first time. Iss baar milte hain theatre mein (We shall meet in theatres this time).”
