Sindh High Court Bar Association polls held

Shehab Sarki receives 1536 votes and Shazia Taslim was elected Vice President with 1115 votes

KARACHI:

Advocate Shahab Sarki has been elected president and Muhammad Omar Soomro secretary in the annual elections of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA).

 The polling was held yesterday and final results were announced by the presiding officer on Sunday after completion of the counting of votes. Shehab Sarki received 1536 votes and Shazia Taslim was elected Vice President with 1115 votes.

Omar Soomro was elected Secretary and Irshad Ahmed Sheikh was elected Treasurer. Dar Shah was elected joint secretary while Hamira Nadeem Rana was elected joint secretary.

Notification of results is likely to be issued on Monday. Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Sunday congratulated the newly elected body of the Sindh High Court (SHC) Bar Association.

The Chief Minister hoped that the newly elected body would work to resolve the problems of lawyers and play its role in the provision of justice.

 He felicitated Shahab Sarki, Shazia Tasleem, Mohammad Umar Soomro, Irshad Ahmed Shaikh, Dur Mohammad Shah and Humaira Nadeem Rana on their win.
