Mutilated body of foreigner found

Deceased was employee of a leather factory; police had no information of foreigner living in the area

A mutilated body of a 71-yearold Korean man was found inside a house in Sector-7 of Kashmir Colony within the limits of Mehmoodabad Police Station.

The victim worked in a leather factory in Korangi. Sources said, the body of the man whose hands and feet were tied, was lying in a pool of blood inside the house.

Upon receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to Jinnah Hospital. The victim was identified as 71-year-old Chang Daewon son of Chang Chongsoo.

Senior police officers also rushed to the spot. Jamshed Town SP, Farooq Bajrani said that the victim Chang Daewon was a Korean citizen and was employed in a leather factory in Korangi Industrial Area.

The victim had been residing in rented one-room house in Kashmir Colony for the last one-and-ahalf years. He had earlier resided in PNT Colony, Korangi and Defence areas, the SP added.

He said neither did the victim inform the police about his residence nor did the landlord inform the police.

He further said that more facts would surface in the light of postmortem report. Farooq Bajrani said that the incident was reported to the police by the residents of the area.

The police reached the spot and immediately called the crime scene investigation team following which the crime scene was cordoned off and evidence were collected.

He said that no belongings of any kind were scattered in the house of the victim which made it clear that the incident was not a robbery.

However, it would be premature to comment on the nature of the incident at this time. Police are closely investigating from various aspects, the SP mentioned.
