Man arrested on murder charges

The suspect, an alleged harasser, had gunned down a man and injured his brother

Police have arrested a suspect who gunned down a man named Kashif and injured his brother in the jurisdiction of Khaki police station.

The victim’s brother lodged a complaint with the police that Ihtisham came to Kashif’s house in Islampura Cantt area and opened fire, resulting in the 28-year-old’s death and his brother Owais being injured.

On hearing the commotion, neighbours rushed over and managed to subdue Ihtisham, thereafter handing him over to the police. It was later learnt that the suspect used to make harassing calls to Kashif’s wife Sidra. When the slain turned off his wife’s mobile, the suspect started calling him and threatened that he would kidnap his spouse.

The police have registered a case while the victim’s body was handed over to the family after an autopsy at the King Abdullah Hospital in Mansehra.

Meanwhile, a 14-year-old boy died on Kashmir Highway when a truck and a motorcycle collided, killing the boy and injuring a man. Upon receiving information, Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the site and shifted the casualties to the tehsil headquarters hospital.
