The project to install e-gates at airports across Pakistan, including Karachi, has faced delays, with the tender submission deadline extended to October 10.
Initially, interested companies were asked to submit their applications by August 13.
In the first phase, e-gates will be installed at Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad airports, which will significantly reduce the long queues passengers face during immigration procedures.
The plan to implement e-gates for fast-track immigration at the country's international airports has hit a snag, as the deadline for the tender has been extended.
The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a notification regarding this extension, citing that no company had participated in the initial tender due to the short time frame.
As a result, the deadline has been pushed to Oct 10.
