Security guard commits suicide, police say

One killed in road mishap, robbers injure youth on resistance

KARACHI:

A security guard, posted at Rim Jhim Villas in Gulshan-e-Usman, was killed in mysterious incident of firing in Super Highway area late on Tuesday. Police in the preliminary investigation opined it may be a case of suicide.

According to SHO Aurangzeb Khattak, Arif, 23, son of Mirullah shot himself in the head with the weapon he had. His body was shifted to JPMC.

The deceased was an employee of Murtaza Security Company. The police informed the company and started the investigation.

Road mishap

A man was killed and two others injured in a traffic accident near Zardari Petrol Pump on Super Highway in the wee hours of Wednesday.

Police and rescue workers rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

According to rescue officials, nothing was found in possession of the deceased which could help identify him. Injured Qaiser Khan and Salman are being treated at the hospital.

The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical. Police are investigating.

Youth injured

A youth was injured in an incident of firing by unknown persons in Mehmoodabad.

The injured was taken to JPMC where he was identified as 23-year-old Hassan son of Arif. He stated that unidentified suspects were looting him at gunpoint. They opened fire at him on his resistance and fled away. Police are investigating.
