The police have arrested a man who kept his wife and two children in confinement and allegedly assaulted them.

The video of a woman with two children went viral on the internet who was later found to be a resident of Raheemabad. The video showed the house doors as locked and the neighbours talking to the woman and children through the window.

City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younis took notice of the incident and directed Airport Police to take action. The police booked the suspect, Tanvir, and rescued the victims.

The woman told the police that her husband assaulted her and kept her confined at home. Airport police have registered a case of the incident.

In another incident, Rawalpindi police on Thursday arrested an accused, for molesting a 10-year-old boy, within a few hours of his alleged involvement in the case.

According to a police spokesperson, Jatli police netted the accused for allegedly raping a boy. He said that Jatli police on the complaint of the victim’s father registered a case against accused named Muhammad Naveed for allegedly raping the boy.

The victim was sent to hospital to undergo a medical examination; he said. Superintendent of Police, Saddar said that a transparent investigation would be ensured under the supervision of a senior police officer.
